Hi, I am Monstera
The experts also call me Monstera Deliciosa, but you probably also know me as the Swiss Cheese plant. I got this name because of the holes in my leaves! Original, eh? Many stylists love to work with me, because I am super trendy. I am a real eye-catcher and create tropical vibes in your home.
I come from very far away, from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, where it is warm and humid. That is why I like higher humidity and warmth in the house. In rainforests, I can grow very large, and my leaves can even reach a diameter of 1 metre! At home, this will not happen as quickly… but everything is possible!
Where should you place me?
I am an easy green friend. I love a bright spot, but will also grow in a darker spot. Always make sure you have some natural light though!
What do I like?
A regular sip of lukewarm water is nice, but I hate too much water! I'd like to get some fertilizer twice a month during the growing season.

Plantanious works together with the Work with Nature foundation. Our tropical rainforests are disappearing at a rapid pace and an enormous biodiversity is being lost along with the trees. If it were up to us, the jaguar would soon walk around again in the rainforest in Costa Rica protected by 'Adopt Rainforest'! The place where many of our special plants originate. In order to make an important contribution to the goal of the foundation - to protect 2,000 hectares of rainforest in the next ten years - we donate part of our turnover to protect part of the tropical rainforest. To achieve their goal, the foundation puts money into protection, conservation, reforestation, education and research.
